January did fly in. I agree with you reading books you really want to read is the best way to read and that's what I did in January. I have heard so many people not enjoying soundless. I love Richelles writing usually so am kinda nervous to check out soundless.

It makes things so much easier for me ... I'm glad I could restrain myself so well until now, haha. :D
DeleteAbout Soundless ... I loved her Vampire Academy series and Bloodlines SO MUCH. They were completely different to this book and honestly, I didn't know what was wrong. It just didn't feel like Richelle wrote this. I was super disappointed but hope you'll like it if you end up reading it! :)
I LOVE reading what I want to read and not focusing so much on what I'm -supposed- to read. I've been binging the Grisha trilogy so I know exactly what you mean! ;) I've heard such terrible things about Soundless... I think I'm probably going to skip it.

Oh my goood! Grisha!!! I'm guessing you love it so far? I'll definitely check out your blog in a minute! :D
DeleteI just posted my review and well ... yes, it's disappointing. I wouldn't recommend reading it.
I really admire the attitude of reading what you want instead of what you feel like you have to, which I know I am guilty of, especially with new releases and arcs and things. I am so glad you enjoyed Scarlet! I wanted to read Soundless but I've gear some not so good things about it, so I think i may just not. :)
ReplyDeleteI still want/try to read new releases (I mostly can't contain myself) but I'm cutting back on ARC's. It's not that hard for me since I don't get physical ARC's as well as the ones that REALLY interest me. I'll have to wait till they're released anyway, so it's not that bad, haha. :D
DeleteIn my opinion it's not worth it ... I expected so much more. *sigh*
I've decided to read more what I want this year instead of arcs and blog tour books. I will still read some but I'm definitely liking just reading what I want right now.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about Soundless! But I've heard many people not liking it much. Makes me nervous to read it.
Yaay! I hope we'll keep true to this, haha. :D
DeleteJust posted my review, so if you're interested be sure to check it out. I wouldn't recommend it. :P
You're awesome. It took me a year or two to finally say I can read what I want when I want. I'm that way now, and if I want to read an ARC I do, but I don't request many of them anymore.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know so many people had a problem with that! Is it really so hard to cut back on ARC's? So far it's been nothing but easy for me but maybe that's because I never got the popular ARC's and mostly just reviewed indie authors. Hm. I'm glad you're able to do that now though! It feels good, right? :D
