{REVIEW} Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Title: Ugly Love
Author: Colleen Hoover
Series: Stand-alone
Genre: New Adult, Romance
Publication: August 5th, 2014
Rating: ★★★★★

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn't even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn't want love, she doesn't have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don't expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can't handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.
I am at a loss for words. Colleen Hoover manages to always make me cry while reading her books. She did it with Maybe Someday, Confess and now with Ugly Love and hell, it's killing me. I think I haven't shed that many tears for any other books! I feel like if I ever meet this awesome woman I need to bow down in front of her and confess my love!

I don't know how to say anything without spoiling so I'll try to keep this short ... also because I'm still so speechless and emotionally drained that I don't even know what to say. I'll do my best though. And I also want to apologize if I use too much capslock and oh my god's and the word love but this is what my review mainly will contain of.

"God gives us the ugliness so we don’t take the beautiful things in life for granted."

Can I just start with Miles? It did my heart NO good that I constantly pictured Nick Bateman (I'm so ready for the movie btw! *fangirling*) while reading. Even thinking about this man makes me swoon, so naturally reading some specific scenes with Tate were ... really hot. OH MY GOD. But then again EVERY DAMN SCENE about and with Miles was intriguing. I wanted to know more about him, his past and what made him feel all this pain and grief. I just couldn't look away, or well, stop reading for that matter. Yes, he's difficult. Yes, he's mysterious and secretive and that makes him unapproachable but then again he's also kind and sweet and does all this extremely amazing things that you can't forget. No matter how strange he acted a moment before ... its, well, I totally get Tate. I think I would've fallen for him too. I did. I FREAKING LOVE MILES ARCHER! I loved his POV as much as I enjoyed the one of Tate but reading everything he's been through and that made him who he is now was just too much. I was sobbing at one point (I guess the ones who've read it know what I'm talking about) and had to stop because I didn't want to ruin my book with all the tears. Just ugh. I want to hold Miles so, so tight!

"If I were capable of loving someone… it would be you."

But onto Tate now. She is great too! I instantly liked her and also think that she's an unbelievably strong person. My heart ached for her whenever Miles rejected her and I admired her for her strength. Like in every of Colleen's book her characters are so, so good. They're complex and real and most importantly, they make me feel something. I'm not saying these are all happy feelings ... most certainly not. It was heartbreaking, sad, intense but at the same time also beautiful and freaking amazing!

Do I recommend this? Hell yes. If you loved Colleen's previous books you'll most likely also love this one ... it's filled with emotions, brilliant characters & a story that will shatter your heart into tiny little pieces. Will the ending be able to help you get it back together again? Or will it leave you crying, maybe even sobbing, and heartbroken on the floor? You should read it and find out for yourself! All I can say is that I absolutely loved it and that this definitely goes to my favorites list!

  1. Aww I'm so happy you loved it this much!! and "Confess your love to her".. ha, pun intended?

I was also sooo incredibly intrigued to read about Miles and his past! I couldn't put it down for that matter and I think that is what makes an incredible book, again, I bow down to Colleen Hoover.

TATE!! I had some major problems with her, but I couldn't deny her strength and determination to do whatever she wanted :)

It made me happy that you loved it so very much!
