{REVIEW} Hired Gun #2 by A.J. Bennett

Title: Hired Gun 2
Author: A. J. Bennett
Series: Hired Gun #2
Genre: Serial, Paranormal, Adult
Publication: October 8th, 2014
Rating: ★★★☆☆ +0.5

Assassin Thorne Hollow wants to know two things. Who is the mysterious Kataya Clarke and what the hell kind of mind games is she playing with him?

His curiosity causes him to do something he hasn’t done in over two thousand years. He returns to his home realm only to find out that his father, Theseus had a hand in getting him his job with The Sicarii, the secret society of hit men, leaving Thorne even more confused.

Pissed off, Throne takes his rage out on a nest of vampires. He ends his night with yet another beautiful woman who is not who she appears to be.

"Hired Gun 2" continues where we left the first part of the serial - Thorne desperately tries to find out who Kataya is and what she has planned. Who sent her? Why is there no information about her? And who or what is she really?

The second part gives us some more information about Thorne and his past but we also find out a little more about Benny and why he's on earth working for The Sicarii. A.J. Bennett introduced a few new characters ... actually I think there are only 2 new ones, Nike and Athena, but they seem promising and interesting! I like that everything's so mysterious and you don't have a clue about what's really going on.

Benny and Thorne always remind me a little of Dean & Sam Winchester from Supernatural. Am I the only one thinking that? They have their "cases" they need to take care of and fight against other supernatural creatures ... and they couldn't be more different. Benny is the quiet one and thinks a lot about everything while Thorne is all about kicking some ass and well, the women of course. I like them a lot and hope to see them more often together - I think they're a great team.

I can't wait to read the third part now! You can slowly connect little bits and pieces and, hopefully, in the end we can solve the mystery about Kataya and all the other problems with the gods, the humans and all the different creatures. I'm excited!
