Get to know the author (#1): Heather Lyons

"Get To Know The Author" will be a bi-weekly meme, where I talk about my favorite authors or some that deserve a little bit more attention! After all, they're the ones who create all those amazing characters and unique worlds! Originally, the idea is from Melissa @ In A Bookish World, so please head over to her site and check it out!

Let's start by talking about the newest "addition" to my authors-I-need-to-read-more-about section! I recently got the chance to read Heather Lyons' upcoming release of "The Collectors' Society" and immediately fell in love with it - I'm not finished yet but you can expect a detailed review and a declaration of my endless love for it in a few days! Prepare yourself!

About Heather Lyons

Heather Lyons writes epic, heartfelt love stories and has always had a thing for words. In addition to writing, she's also been an archaeologist and a teacher. She and her husband and children live in sunny Southern California and are currently working their way through every cupcakery she can find.

 Books by the author

A Matter of Fate
The Deep End of The Sea
The Collectors' Society

A Matter of Fate. It's the 1st of 4 books in Heather Lyon's "Fate"-series and is about a girl, Chloe Lilywhite, that struggles with all the normal problems of a typical seventeen-year-old high school student. Only, Chloe isn’t a normal teenage girl. She’s a Magical, part of a secret race of beings who influence the universe. More importantly, she’s a Creator, which means Fate mapped out her destiny long ago, from her college choice, to where she will live, to even her job. While her friends and relatives relish their future roles, Chloe resents the lack of say in her life, especially when she learns she’s to be guarded against a vengeful group of beings bent on wiping out her kind.

The Deep End of the Sea. Brutally attacked by one god and unfairly cursed by another she faithfully served, Medusa has spent the last two thousand years living out her punishment on an enchanted isle in the Aegean Sea. A far cry from the monster legends depict, she’s spent her time educating herself, gardening, and desperately trying to frighten away adventure seekers who occasionally end up, much to her dismay, as statues when they manage to catch her off guard. As time marches on without her, Medusa wishes for nothing more than to be given a second chance at a life stolen away at a far too young age. But then comes a day when Hermes, one of the few friends she still has and the only deity she trusts, petitions the rest of the gods and goddesses to reverse the curse.

The Collectors' Society. After years in Wonderland, Alice has returned to England as an adult, desperate to reclaim sanity and control over her life. An enigmatic gentleman with an intriguing job offer too tempting to resist changes her plans for a calm existence, though. Soon, she’s whisked to New York and initiated into the Collectors’ Society, a secret organization whose members confirm that famous stories are anything but straightforward and that what she knows about the world is only a fraction of the truth. It’s there she discovers villains are afoot—ones who want to shelve the lives of countless beings. Assigned to work with the mysterious and alluring Finn, Alice and the rest of the Collectors’ Society race against a doomsday clock in order to prevent further destruction.

Social Media

Heather Lyons seems to be a really nice person! She's active on Twitter and Facebook and responds to questions and other lovely messages right away - at least that's how I see it! She's obviously talented and created lots of creative worlds and amazing characters that I would love to explore!

She has a website/blog, Tumblr, Pinterest and even Instagram! Lots of social media where you can follow, contact and connect with her. Oh, and of course she also has a Goodreads author page, which you can find HERE.

Feel free to add her books on Goodreads and send her some love via Twitter or other social media platforms! I'm sure she'll appreciate it! :)
