{REVIEW} Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Title: Eleanor & Park
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Series: Stand-alone
Genre: Romance, Contemporary
Publication: February 26th, 2013
Rating: ★★★★★

Eleanor... Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough...Eleanor.

Park... He knows she'll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There's a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises...Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.
”I want everyone to meet you. You’re my favorite person of all time.“

*Sigh* Where do I even start?
This book was amazing! It’s the first book I read by Rainbow Rowell and I already know it won’t be the last – i loved her writing style and also that the chapters were short, oh and I really enjoyed the switching POV’s!

“Park looked good in black. It made him look like he was drawn in charcoal. Thick, arched, black eyebrows. Short, black lashes. High, shining cheeks.”
Let’s talk about Park first! He seemed very likeable right from the beginning. He loves comics and listening to music and he has a great family – i liked them a lot! At first they seemed a bit strict but when we found out more about them, I was also looking forward to their scenes.
Park and Eleanor were perfect together! He treats her like a “normal human being” – and yes, it’s hard to write this but I think this book showed how people who are different, like Eleanor, are really treated. It’s sick and inhuman and just really, really sad. I wanted to punch something/someone while reading those rude, embarassing moments and I felt so sorry for Eleanor, ugh. Sometimes people really suck.

Eleanor was such an awesome character! I really loved her and at some points I could totally relate to her! She’s strong and brave and even though she has to go through hard times, she still faces the world with a smile – what an inspiring character! Rainbow Rowell did a really great job with all her characters! They were all so believable and real.

“She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn’t suppposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”
Great humor, fantastic scenes and dialogues, some real problems and well, the ending … RIGHT IN THE FEELS! The whole book was fabulous and I enjoyed it so so much! Everyone should read it! GO, READ IT NOW! You definitely won’t regret it.
